Salt Lake City weather

Salt Lake City is the valley floor every corridor on this site climbs out of, and its weather is the least reliable guide to any of them. The city sits at about 4,200 feet; the canyon tops run 7,000 to 8,700. A rainy morning at this weather station can be a foot of snow at Alta, and a clear city dawn can hide a Parleys summit whiteout twenty minutes away. Getting around: From downtown, I-80 east reaches the Parleys mouth in about 10 minutes; the Cottonwood mouths are 20 to 25 minutes via I-215 east and Wasatch Blvd.
