SR-210 | Base elevation about 7,760 ft
Little Cottonwood Canyon is open. Road surface: Dry. Weather: Fair. No traction restriction is posted for this corridor right now.
Data: UDOT Traffic | UDOT report Nov 4, 9:23 AM MT
Snowbird is Little Cottonwood's first resort, about a mile below Alta, and it shares the canyon's entire driving story: SR-210, Class 3 traction enforcement at the mouth, avalanche paths above the road, and control work closures that can hold the morning. The one difference is position. A closure at the upper canyon or an incident near the top can leave Snowbird reachable when Alta is not, and the events list on the corridor page is where that distinction shows up.
Snowbird's base sits at about 7,760 feet with the tram climbing to Hidden Peak at 11,000, and its storm days are the canyon's storm days squared: the same systems that close the road are stacking the cirque. Read the Little Cottonwood verdict as a Snowbird document, because it is one. Traction line first, events second, cameras third.
If the canyon posts a closure with no estimate, Snowbird's honest alternatives are the same as everyone's: Big Cottonwood if it is flowing, Park City if it is not, and the valley if neither is. The comparison pages on this site exist for exactly that decision.
